Phillies Look To Bounce Back Against Rockies

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies will play the second game in their four-game series with the Rockies tonight out in Colorado.

The Phils dropped the opener in this set last night 11-2 as Adam Morgan allowed six runs in five innings to fall to 1-7. He was optioned to Triple-A after the game.

Right-hander Vince Velasquez will start on the mound tonight for the Phillies. He is 7-2 with a 3.34 ERA. Since returning from a stint on the DL last month, Velasquez has made two starts, winning both while allowing just two runs in 11 innings of work with 14 strikeouts and just two walks. Velasquez has made one career start against the Rockies. It came last year while he was Houston and it did not go real well. In 4 2/3 innings, he allowed five earned runs on seven hits.

Colorado will start right-hander Jon Gray. He is 5-4 and has an ERA of 4.81. This will be his first career appearance against the Phillies.

Philadelphia is 40-47 this season. Colorado has a record of 39-46.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with CSNPhilly.com's Corey Seidman about Velasquez and some Phillies who could be trade possibilities as the deadline approaches.
