Tracking weekend storm chances in the Philly area; Mostly sunny weather Friday

It's a dry and sunny Friday in the Philadelphia area, feeling much more like the return of summer weather with highs in the upper 80s and slightly higher humidity.

A great day, maybe for one last dip in the pool before it closes up for the season? And a nice day down the shore, though the risk of rip currents remains in the moderate range.

CBS News Philadelphia

Saturday is another warm and humid day in the upper 80s to near 90 with more showers and storms crossing the region in the afternoon and evening.

As of now, our region is in a Marginal (Level 1) risk of severe weather, but there's a chance that part of the area, especially Delaware and New Jersey, could be upgraded to a Slight Risk. The biggest threat would be damaging winds.

Models continue to hint at the front stalling Saturday night into Sunday morning as a new low develops offshore. This would keep rain chances in the forecast Saturday night and likely showers lingering into Sunday morning, if not midday.
