Philadelphia Union Announces 4-Year Partnership Extension With Army And Naval Academy

By Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Union this week announced a four year extension of the partnership with the Army and Naval Academy to host the annual soccer match between the schools.

Philadelphia is already the unofficial home for the Army-Navy football game, and Union CEO Nick Sakiewicz says the soccer showdown at PPL Park has been wildly successful the past three years.

"The building is so set up for soccer and viewing it the proper way. Army-Navy is building its tradition here."

The agreement runs through 2017.

"It's just become a really good experience for the athletes and the coaches, and we're trying to do it first class all the way."

The Midshipmen and the Black Knights play November 7th. Tickets start at $18, parking included.
