Philadelphia Man Faces Probable Life In Prison For Series Of Brutal Crimes

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia man now faces almost certain life in prison for a series of brutal and cruel crimes starting in 2004.
Lamar Rayson was serving a 32 year federal sentence for carjacking and armed robberies in 2005 and 2006, when DNA from that case linked him to an armed 2004 rape and robbery.
Rayson now must serve an additional sentence of up to 75 years in prison.
Assistant D.A. Branwen McNabb says DNA proved 29-year-old Lamar Rayson was one of three men involved in an armed home invasion robbery and rape on Torresdale Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia on Christmas Eve 2004.
"Guns were pointed at all four family members at all times. The children were woken up with guns to their heads, when this particular defendant demanded all of their video games and their electronics. And then the children as well as the mother's boyfriend were held at gunpoint on the ground while the other two defendants, this particular defendant and another accomplice raped the mom at gunpoint."
Authorities say the other two accomplices have not been identified.
The investigation continues.
