Philadelphia-Area To See Many Familiar Faces Return To Office In Congress

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Congressional Races in the Philadelphia went well for the incumbent candidates, except in one race.

In the 6th Congressional District, Republican Ryan Costello won a 2nd term beating Mike Parrish with 57 percent of the vote, while Pat Meehan saw a repeat of 2014 beating Democrat Mary Ellen Balchunis for a 4th term in office with 60 percent of the vote.

In Bucks, the 8th Congressional Seat will go to Republican new comer Brian Fitzpatrick who unseated Democrat Steve Santasiero 53-46 percent.

Democrats did get easy wins in the 1st and 2nd Congressional races, with Bob Brady beating Deborah Williams in the 1st, and Dwight Evans claimed victory over Republican James Jones.

Both Brady and Evans received more than 80 percent of the vote in those races.
