Phila. Man Accused Of Impersonating Attorney

By Dan Wing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 42-year-old Philadelphia man is facing theft charges in Delaware County after allegedly stealing $1,300 from a woman while pretending to be a lawyer, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's office.

The Delaware County District Attorney's office says Kyle Arnold met the woman at the county courthouse in late March of last year. Prosecutors say he allegedly told her he was an attorney, and convinced the woman to have him represent her boyfriend. Authorities say Arnold was at the courthouse that day to face assault charges of his own.

According to the District Attorney's office, after taking a trolley with the woman back to the Philadelphia Municipal Services building, which is where he allegedly claimed to have an office, Arnold allegedly took a $1,300 down payment for services, and disappeared after allegedly saying he needed to run to his office.

Kyle Arnold was arraigned earlier this week.

Authorities say more victims may be out there.
