Multi-Vehicle Accidents Cause Traffic Mess On I-76

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Two separate accidents on each side of I-76 caused a traffic mess for motorists on Friday. The first incident happened on the westbound lanes of I-76, where a tanker truck overturned and spilled fuel on the highway, just before 8:30 a.m.

Crews closed the westbound lanes between Montgomery Drive and Roosevelt Boulevard for several hours while they worked to cleanup the spill.

One person was taken to the hospital with a minor injury.

The second crash happened on the eastbound lanes of I-76 around 11 a.m. Officials say at least one vehicle and a tractor-trailer collided near Montgomery Drive. No injuries were reported.

That crash has since been cleared.
