New Poll Shows Presidential Race Tightening In Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Hillary Clinton is still ahead in the polls in Pennsylvania, but her lead over Donald Trump isn't as large as it was a month ago.

A new Monmouth University poll of Pennsylvania voters shows Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump 48 to 44 percent. That's down from her ten-point advantage a month ago, but pollster Patrick Murray says you can't point to the FBI investigation of new emails as a major reason.

Murray says Donald Trump leads in western Pennsylvania, 54 to 38 percent. That's up from last month when Clinton actually held a slight lead in Western PA.

In the US Senate race, Democrat Katie McGinty now leads incumbent Republican Pat Toomey 47 to 44 percent. The Monmouth poll had the two tied a month ago, each with 46 percent.
