Montgomery County Man Charged With Sex Trafficking 16-Year-Old

LANSDALE, P.A., (CBS) – A Montgomery County man is charged with the human-trafficking of a 16-year-old girl.

Authorities say 32-year-old Brian Kieffer began an inappropriate relationship with her after the pair met on a social media app last August. After meeting, authorities say he managed and profited off her prostitution.

Authorities say he allegedly also drove the girl around to purchase paraphernalia such as heroin and cocaine. Officials say he allegedly took her to Florida in October without her parents' knowledge or consent. That's where authorities say they caught the two after the teen's parents reported her missing.

After his initial arrest in October, he has been held on $1 million bail. On Wednesday, he was arraigned on additional charges raising his bail to $5 million.

Officials say the new charges follow a joint investigation by Montgomery County Detectives.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele says Kieffer is facing 40 felony counts related to prostitution and human trafficking and could face a maximum of 411 years in prison.
