Police: No Injuries Following Barricade Incident In South Jersey

HADDON Twp., NJ (CBS) -- Haddon Township Police say a barricade situation has ended without any injuries Wednesday afternoon.

Police say shortly before noon, they responded to a report of an adult male inside of a home on the 400 block of Addison Avenue who was described by a relative as intoxicated, suicidal and having access to firearms. The man was determined to be alone inside of the residence.

During the incident, police say he fired several shots inside of the home. He also shot at a tactical robot that officers had sent inside.

Police were able to remove him from the home around 3:20 p.m. He was unharmed and taken for a medical examination.

During the incident, Strawbridge Elementary School was put on lockdown as a precaution. It was lifted late Wednesday afternoon and the students were dismissed.

Police say charges are pending the outcome of an investigation.
