Local Congressman Says U.S. Should Consider Severe Sanctions In Response To Sony Pictures Hacking

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - "Aggressive and war-like:" that's how a local congressman describes the activity of the North Korean government, which federal officials believe is behind the hack on Sony Pictures.
More businesses, along with government agencies, the power grid -- all are at risk of falling victim to cyber warfare, says Congressman Pat Meehan:
"The reality in today's world: we are vulnerable."
The Republican chairs the House cyber subcommittee for Homeland Security, and says the U.S. must be "firm" with North Korea after the Sony attack:
"That kind of an aggressive action could be seen as a hostility against the US, and I would consider it to be an aggressive act and war-like."
While Meehan says pulling "The Interview" film from theaters is Sony's right as a private company, he worries about the "chilling" impact on free speech:
"We need to be resolute in not allowing it to so dramatically to change our lives."
President Obama on Thursday signed into law Meehan's legislation designed to bring together top resources from the government and private sector in the fight against hackers intent on doing harm.
