Lady Gaga's National Anthem Stirs Prop Bet Controversy

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Before the start of Super Bowl 50 Sunday night, Lady Gaga grabbed the spotlight when she sang the National Anthem. Overall, football fans went gaga for the pop star's version of the 'Star-Spangled Banner,' but there is also a big dispute over the length of the performance.

Among the many prop bets fans could wager on was the over/under on how long the song would last. The time was set at two-minutes, twenty-seconds. Initially, it appeared Gaga finished the song under that time, but then she repeated the ending.

Most people who timed it thought Gaga went over. But a popular betting website claims the song ended when she sang the word "brave" the first time, ending the song at two-minutes, nine-seconds.

Different sportsbooks are treating the result in different ways, so it depends on where fans placed their bets.

It's a sure bet that no matter how they choose to pay out, some gambling football fans will be singing the blues.
