MANHATTAN, NY. (CBS) -- Dramatic skyline views are a big part of a Big Apple getaway. It's more fun being part of the skyline.
Rooftop bars in Manhattan are the way to go, overlooking the canyons and rivers. Visitors with a drink in hand find the scenics nothing short of spectacular.
"You can't beat it, you can't beat it," said one woman. "You've got views - the Empire State Building."
"It makes you want to see more of the city," said another woman. "It makes you want to see everything in New York."
For many rooftop bars here, the iconic Empire State Building is front and center.
So where to go?
Tradition suggests Club 65 at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Thirty Rock in modern parlance. Dress for success and bring lots of money.
For a more casual sip and see, there's the Pod 39 rooftop bar on East 39th street.
For a touch of class overlooking Lincoln Center, try the Empire Hotel.
