Hillary Clinton Makes Pitch For Millennial Votes At Temple

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Temple University hosted Hillary Clinton Monday afternoon for the second time since she got the democratic presidential nomination. This time, however, her speech this time was aimed at young voters.

Though Clinton hit themes common to all her stump speeches, her appeal to voters in their 20's and 30's emphasized what she said were the hallmarks of the generation:

"Your generation is the most inclusive, progressive and entrepreneurial that we've ever seen."

She promised to take on immigration reform, offender re-entry, climate change, college costs and economic equity....

"I can't promise you'll agree with me all the time, but I can promise you this: no one will work harder to make your life better."

Her speech was also personal, recognizing that her bigger rival, with this age group, may be a third party:

"Even if you're totally opposed to Donald Trump, you may still have some questions about me. I get that. And I want to do my best to answer those questions."

In the relative intimacy of Temple's Mitten Hall, Clinton spoke softly and the 200 or so supporters who'd signed up to attend cheered enthusiastically.

Student Ray Crozier thought her challenge, for this age group, is less Republican Donald Trump than third party voters, but he thought she did what she had to to win them:

"The most important topics -- gun violence and college affordability -- I think that she has really laid out what she's going to do."

Clinton also attended a fundraiser while in town.
