'Hamilton' Cast Won't Use Prop Guns At Tonys Performance

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) - The cast of "Hamilton" will not use muskets as props in its Tony Awards performance Sunday night following the mass shooting in Orlando that claimed 50 lives.
The cast will instead pantomime during its performance of "Yorktown (World Turned Upside Down)," which recreates the Battle of Yorktown. The smash-hit musical tells the story of the American Revolution in hip-hop.
A representative for "Hamilton" did not say if the cast would otherwise mark Sunday morning's shooting, which was the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

The news, which was tweeted out earlier by New York Times' theater reporter Michael Paulson, follows a mass shooting at a gay nightclub that has left an estimated 50 dead and another 53 injured.
The Tony Awards are set to begin at 8 p.m. ET. They will be televised by CBS from New York's Beacon Theatre.
"Hamilton" has a record 16 Tony nominations. The musical, which follows the life of Alexander Hamilton, is looking to make history for the most Tony awards for a musical.
