Dump Truck And Pick-up Truck Collide On Pa. Turnpike

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- An accident involving a dump truck and a pick-up truck tied up traffic on westbound I-276 on the ramp to northbound I-476 Tuesday morning.

The accident happened at the Mid-County Interchange (Exit #20).

The dump truck overturned and emergency units responded to the scene. The driver was initially trapped, but crews were able to extricate that person.

The truck was hauling stone, which spilled into the right lane of the ramp.

Two people were taken to Presbyterian Hospital, one via medevac. There is no word on either person's condition.

The ramp from I-276 to go north or south on I-476 was blocked for emergency crews to work but reopened around 10:15 a.m.
