Phillies Fan Wins MLB's 'Best Fan Catch Of The Year'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- This Phillies fan has better hands than most of the wide receivers on the Eagles.

Major League Baseball named Dennis Pollock's grab the "Best Fan Catch of the Year."

It was the bottom of the fourth inning on May 16 when Freddy Galvis' foul ball came barreling into the stands.

Pollock made a bare-handed catch, grabbing the ball before it could hit his wife, Louise Pollock, in the face.

"We are shocked that we were even considered for it," Dennis Pollock told MLB.com. "When I caught the ball, I was just happy to catch a foul ball. We were not expecting to get so much coverage locally and by Major League Baseball. People catch foul balls all the time. When I did it, I just reached out and snagged it. It was right there."

Pollock added that his grandchildren will be "thrilled."
