Sources: Surveillance Video Shows Shane Montgomery Walking Towards River

By Walt Hunter, Pat Loeb

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Sources tell CBS 3 that video from a Manayunk business may provide a new clue into the disappearance of Shane Montgomery, a West Chester University student who vanished early Thanksgiving morning after last being seen at Kildare's Irish Pub on Main Street.

Sources say the video, which is not being made public, shows Montgomery walking across a bridge spanning the Manayunk Canal toward a parking lot that is next to the Schuylkill River.

Law enforcement sources say the new information comes from surveillance video recently recovered from a nail salon on Main Street.

The short video does not show where Shane goes after crossing the bridge. Today, members of the Philadelphia Police Marine Unit, along with detectives and FBI agents, focused their search along the river.

There was no sign of Shane and more searching in the same area is expected tomorrow.

The reward for information about Shane now stands at $65,000.

Tomorrow marks the two week anniversary of his disappearance. Green ribbons and posters are still seen everywhere around Manayunk and surrounding neighborhoods as the hope for answers continues.
