PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Holy Family University and Conwell-Egan High School have announced a new program to allow dual enrollment for high school students.

Dual enrollment allows high school students to take college courses. Doctor Carol Cary is Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

"The premise of dual enrollment is that students can enhance their opportunities to be successful in college by taking college courses while in high school, and earning both high school and college credit."

Emily Szafara of Levittown is a rising senior at Conwell Egan and is signing up.

"I believe I take four classes in total, two per semester."Do you know what you're taking?" I'm not sure I just got my packet but I'm really excited to find out."

The partnership also allows teachers, administrators, staff and employees of the high school to enroll at Holy Family with waived admission fees and reduced tuition.
