Christie Sending New Jersey State Police To Riot-Ravaged Baltimore

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- During a series of Tweets Tuesday, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced that 150 State Troopers and other personnel will be sent to Baltimore to assist the riot-ravaged city.
On Twitter, Christie wrote that he spoke with Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and offered him the full support and solidarity of the Garden State.
Christie announced that there will be a deployment of 150 New Jersey State Police and personnel and 100 of those troopers will provide operational support.

In addition, Christie said approximately 50 enlisted and civilian personnel will provide investigative and logistical support.
Christie said the full deployment will take place sometime Tuesday "to help ensure a peaceful resolution for the city and people of Baltimore."
The New Jersey State Police will be on the ground for the initial term of 72 hours, as per the request from Maryland, Christie Tweeted.
"They're really going down to help that community recover from what has occurred and to ensure that both life and property are protected," said New Jersey State Police Col. Rick Fuentes.
Baltimore's mayor has imposed a 10 p.m.-to-5 a.m. curfew. Baltimore is approximately 100 miles south of Philadelphia.
