Child Among 4 Injured In Single-Car Crash On New Jersey Turnpike

WESTAMPTON, NJ (CBS) -- Four people, including a child, were taken to the hospital after a single-car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes near exit 5 in Burlington County at about 1:00 p.m.

According to the New Jersey State Police, a Hyundai Santa Fe somehow lost, went into a wooded area and overturned.

Police say five people – two adults and three children – were in SUV at the time of the crash.

Authorities say two people, including a child, were airlifted to a nearby hospital. Two others were taken by ambulance to a hospital. The extent of the injuries were not immediately known.

It's unclear why the driver lost control.
