Police: 1 Dead After Accident On Rt. 42 In South Jersey

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) – New Jersey State Police say a man was killed in an accident Saturday night in Gloucester Township, Camden County.

This happened around 7:30 p.m. on Route 42 near mile marker 9.

Police say the driver was traveling southbound and ran off the side of the road after missing an exit, then crashed into a tree. He was ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced dead. 

Police have not yet released the victim's identity. He was the only person in the car.

Crews remain on the scene as an investigation continues.
