Death Of Woman Struck During Yonkers Police Chase Leaves Loved Ones Heartbroken

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Loved ones of a woman killed in a Yonkers police chase were heartbroken on Tuesday.

Sharlene Stinson was killed when her Hyundai Sonata was hit by a van driven by two teens on Monday, police said.

Officers began chasing the 16-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl after receiving a 911 call reporting that the two may have broken into parking meters.

Investigators said the van was stolen and the driver wouldn't pull over. Stinson's boyfriend and 6-year-old son were devastated.

"I love her, you know. I miss her," Justo Kelly said, "It's hard, you know, he asks about his mother everyday. He asks me about his mother every day. Pain you know."

The chase ended when the teen suspects crashed into Stinson's car. The teens were critically injured. No charges have been filed.
