ST. LOUIS (CBSNewYork) -- Donald Trump told Hillary Clinton during a very tense exchange at Sunday night's presidential debate that she would be in jail if he was president.

It happened when the topic of Clinton's missing 33,000 emails as secretary of state was discussed.

"It's just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country," Clinton said.

Trump responded, "Because you'd be in jail."

Before that exchange, Trump said he would appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Clinton if he became president.

This is the second of three presidential debates.
