Person Struck, Critically Injured In Queens Hit-And-Run

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Tuesday were on the scene of a hit-and-run in Queens.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. at 35th Street and Queens Boulevard in the Sunnyside section of the borough, police said.

The vehicle was traveling north on 35th Street while the victim was crossing Queens Boulevard.

Police remained on the scene at 11 p.m.

The victim -- a 26-year-old man -- was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in critical condition, police said. He was expected to survive.

The vehicle was described as a dark-colored sport-utility vehicle.
