Search On For Perp After Woman, 21, Is Shot Dead In East Orange

EAST ORANGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in East Orange, New Jersey were searching Tuesday for a suspect in a shooting that left a 21-year-old woman dead.

Tyeshia Obie, 21, was shot while sitting in a parked car in the 200 block of North Maple Avenue in East Orange, at 8:39 p.m. Monday, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's office.

Obie was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, where she was pronounced dead at 9:11 p.m., prosecutors said.

As of Tuesday evening, no arrests had been made and the investigation continued, prosecutors said.
