Police: Man Sought For Questioning In Connection With Deadly Queens Hit-And-Run

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking to question a man who they said was seen getting out of a car that was involved in a deadly hit-and-run in Queens earlier this week.

Ovidio Jaramillo, 17, was on his way home from a funeral when police said he was struck by a black Toyota Camry while trying to cross Northern Boulevard at Junction Boulevard in Jackson Heights Tuesday night.

Police said the car fled the scene. Jaramillo was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The teen lived just three blocks away on 95th Street with his parents and grandmother. He attended St. John's Preparatory School.

After searching through video in the area, police said investigators found photos of a man who exited the passenger side of the car shortly after the crash. Investigators said they would like to talk to the man about the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS, visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or text tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
