Police in Brooklyn are investigating at least three incidents in Graves End and Coney Island, CBS 2 reported.

Police said they haven't found any skimming devices or cameras in the meters, but thieves may be using other techniques to steal information, CBS 2 reported.

Experts said skimming devices and cameras are often held in place with tape, so people are advised to look things over, jiggle the card slot and cover the keypad when punching in their PIN.

Some drivers on the Upper West Side told WCBS 880's Paul Murnane that they'll only use coins at the meters, which cost $3.50 an hour.

"It's a lot of quarters but I keep a little tray holder and just use the quarters," one man said. "It's easier because on the older machines the credit cards didn't work."
