Woman, 55, Struck, Killed By Dump Truck In Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 55-year-old woman is dead after she was hit by a dump truck Thursday morning as she tried to cross a street in the Bronx, police said.

The accident happened at around 8:30 a.m. at Seneca and Bryant avenues in the Hunts Point section.

Floria Burton was trying to cross the street when she was hit by a Mack dump truck, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital.

The truck driver remained at the scene and has not been charged. Police are investigating.
