Ocean County Mall In Toms River Evacuated Over Bomb Threat

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The Ocean County Mall in Toms River, New Jersey was evacuated Wednesday when multiple bomb threats came in by phone.

Staff at the mall, at 1201 Hooper Ave. in Toms River, began receiving calls about a bomb inside at 7 p.m., Toms River police told CBS2.

The mall was evacuated a short time later, police said.

As late as 8:30 p.m., the evacuation remained in place, and bomb squad and K9 units were on the scene searching the building, police said.

It was not known when the mall would be reopened.
