Suspicious Package At Ridgewood NJT Station Cleared, Trains Resume Service
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- NJ TRANSIT has suspended rail service in on the Main/Bergen and Port Jervis lines both directions due to police activity.
Authorities were called to the scene following reports of a suspicious package near the Ridgewood station.
According to an NJ TRANSIT spokesperson, a NJ TRANSIT officer found an unattended pair of shoes with what appeared to be wires attached.
The item was inspected by the bomb squad and a K-9 squad before the area was cleared, the spokesperson said.

NJ TRANSIT resumed service shortly after 10 a.m. Residual delays of up to 60 minutes are expected.
Main/Bergen and Port Jervis line service has resumed in both directions, following earlier police activity near Ridgewood station. (1/2)

NJ TRANSIT is advising customers to take alternate modes of transportation. NJ bus services will cross-honor all NJ TRANSIT passes at this time.
