80,000 Bags Of Holiday-Themed Dove Chocolates Recalled From Walmart Stores

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mars Chocolate North America has issued a recall of approximately 80,000 bags of holiday-themed Dove Chocolate Snowflakes after products containing wheat, peanut and egg were mislabeled.

According to the recall statement released by the FDA, around 6,700 cases of the recalled chocolate may contain traces of other candy varieties, like Snickers, Milky Way and Twix -- which contain ingredients like peanuts or egg. The Dove chocolate brand listed in the recall does not include said ingredients on its labeling -- posing a risk for those with specific food allergies.

The seasonal chocolates involved in the recall have been sold exclusively at Walmart locations in 35 states, and have been on the shelves since Sept. 19.

The recalled Dove Chocolate Snowflakes are packaged in a purple "assorted" bag, with multi-colored individual wrapping, and come in a 24-ounce variety pack.
