N.J. Lt. Gov. Guadagno Won't Be Going To Hillary Clinton Fundraiser

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New Jersey Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno is turning down an invitation to attend a fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.

A spokeswoman for Guadagno, who is a Republican, said Wednesday that the state's second-in-command received the invitation through an email blast that had been sent to numerous recipients.

The spokeswoman, Joelle Farrell, said Guadagno would not be attending the event.

Guadagno is the state's first lieutenant governor and sometimes serves as acting governor – filling in for Gov. Chris Christie when he is out of state.

She has said that she is considering a run for the Republican nomination to succeed him.

The invitation was first reported by NJ.com.
