Police: Motorcyclist Shoots Driver On Long Island Expressway In Road Rage Incident

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A driver is in the hospital after getting shot on the Long Island Expressway in what police are calling a case of road rage.

1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported a motorcyclist road up alongside a car driving eastbound on the Long Island Expressway at Rego Park and fired several times, hitting the 25-year-old driver in the left arm at 11 p.m. Saturday.

The victim was taken to New York Hospital in stable condition.

The eastbound expressway was closed for several hours overnight as cops searched for the biker who had taken off on foot near 108th Street.

The suspect is still on the loose.
