ISLAND PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Bartenders at a popular Long Island nightclub have been caught serving alcohol to underage patrons, police said.

Nassau County police sent underage, undercover operatives into Warehouse 5 in Island Park before raiding the bar early Wednesday, WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs reported.

Residents who live near the club told Xirinachs they suspected problems.

"Of course, it's wrong, flat out," one man said. "They should be held accountable for that, absolutely, especially in today's day and age with drunk driving."

The owner of Warehouse 5 and more than a dozen bartenders and managers were arrested on charges of prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and unlawful dealing with a child.

A stop-work order was plastered on the front door of the club Thursday.
