Former Mayor Giuliani, Commissioner Bratton Testify At Homeland Security Hearing

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The House Homeland Security Committee held a hearing at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, and former Mayor Rudy Giuliani was the star witness.

As WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported, the picture of ISIS painted by Giuliani is dark and bleak.

"Although the threat may not be as large as it was with al-Qaeda, it is more diverse and harder to find," he said.

But NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said he feels things have gotten better since the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

"We are definitely more safe as evidence by the 20 efforts that have been thwarted, 16 during Commissioner Kelly's time and four during my time as commissioner," he said.

Bratton said more officers are being assigned to counter-terrorism efforts.
