Police: 77-Year-Old Beaten With Own Cane In Bronx Robbery

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a man who allegedly beat a 77-year-old Bronx man with his own cane in a Bronx robbery on March 9.

According to investigators the suspect allegedly pushed the victim into his Parkchester apartment as he was opening his door at around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

The suspect grabbed the victim's cane and hit him over the head several times, police said. The suspect then took $1,100 from the victim and fled the scene, according to police.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where he was treated for a head injury, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
