'I Love It': Belmar Boardwalk Packed This Memorial Day Weekend

BELMAR, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The beaches are the place to be this Memorial Day weekend as many folks are looking to make the most out of the weekend before the rain hits.

The boardwalk in Belmar, New Jersey, is packed as beachgoers are anxious to soak up as much sunshine as they can get before the storm rolls in, WCBS 880's Kelly Waldron reported.

"I'm chilly, but I love it," Helen said. "I love walking the boardwalk. My favorite thing to do."

Helen said the meaning behind Memorial Day weekend was not lost on her.

"I'm very thankful to be able to do what I have today versus what they do every day for our lives, so I'm very thankful," she said.

Memorial Day is expected to be a rainout.
