Accident Involving Car-Carrier Snarls Interstate 80 In Elmwood Park, N.J.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - New Jersey State Police and police from Elmwood Park are on the scene of an accident involving a car carrier on Interstate 80.

The accident happened at around 11:15 a.m. near exit 61.

One person was rushed to an area hospital.

I-80 was closed westbound.

The accident started when a car carrier lost control, striking several cars, New Jersey State Police said.

At least 10 cars are believed to have been involved in the accident, New Jersey State Police said. At least three cars could be seen with heavy damage. One car became trapped between the carrier and another truck.
