2 Hurt When Car, Bus Collide In Jamaica, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two people were hospitalized Friday afternoon after a car and a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus were involved in a crash in Hillside Avenue and Merrick Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens.

As Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2, the bus and the car were involved in an accident around 5 p.m. at Hillside Avenue and Merrick Boulevard in Queens.

Two people were taken to Jamaica Hospital Center in an unknown condition, officials said.

Their conditions were not immediately available, but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

A major police investigation was under way in the middle of the intersection as of shortly before 6 p.m., and traffic on busy Hillside Avenue was snarled.
