1/16 CBS2 Friday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening,

Skies have been mostly sun filled today. Temps have been above normal too! It felt quite nice this afternoon when I stepped out for a coffee.

However, I could also feel the northern winds start to increase and that bite is coming back. There have been a few snow showers to make their way into western New Jersey -- no accumulation expected.

Tonight, temps plunge. Big time. Wake up temps tomorrow morning with be in the single digits. Well north and west will start off around zero. Winds will not help either.

But by the afternoon, a warm sun paired with a light wind will reduce the harshness. Temps continue to rise overnight Saturday.

Sunday brings rain. A lot of it. Its still early but, 1 to 2 inches is a good general range.

A little big of frozen precip could surface in the front and back sides of the rain. But it's a slight risk at best. The profile is just too warm to support significant snow.

Check back in soon for an update on the weekend storm.
