Thank you, Bob

Thank you, Bob

Last week, 60 Minutes correspondent Bob Simon died in a car accident in New York City. After his funeral, we looked back at our interviews with him, and we were surprised to find nearly 30 Overtime interviews about his stories, his career, and whatever he felt like talking about.

Bob was the correspondent who never said no to an interview with 60 Minutes Overtime. And we loved him for that. Some of it made air. A lot didn't. The outtakes were filled with Bob's trademark wit, irreverence, and playfulness. Now we feel lucky that it's all on tape.

We decided to show you some of those moments, in the video above, not only to give viewers a sense of what Bob was like to work with--but also to find a way to say thank you. To Bob himself.
