Rose McGowan tweets that she was raped by Hollywood exec
Rose McGowan wrote in a series of tweets on Thursday that she was raped by a Hollywood executive.
The actress had posted a video of herself slamming Donald Trump for his comments about women and amidst the response from fans, wrote about her experience, using the hashtag #WhyWomenDontReport.
McGowan wrote that a studio head had raped her and she did not report it because she felt unsupported.
She wrote that an attorney told her she would never win a lawsuit because she had once done a sex scene in a movie. McGowan also said that another reason why she didn’t report her alleged rapist was because her ex-boyfriend had worked with him. Perhaps most surprising, the actress said the alleged assault has been an “open secret” in Hollywood.
a (female) criminal attorney said because I'd done a sex scene in a film I would never win against the studio head. #WhyWomenDontReport
