Police: Maryland state trooper charged with sex offense

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Prince George's County Police Department announced has charged a Maryland state trooper after he allegedly forced a woman to perform a sex act against her will, according to CBS affiliate WUSA.

Police say a parked SUV was spotted by an officer early Monday morning near a cul-de-sac in a commercial area. Upon further investigation, investigators say the woman alerted the officer that the suspect, 43-year-old Brian Tucker, had a gun.

Off-duty at the time, Tucker reportedly then identified himself as a Maryland State Police trooper.

In a statement to the press, the department's preliminary investigation revealed that Tucker and the victim had agreed to exchange sex acts for money. During that encounter, the suspect allegedly had the woman at gunpoint to engage in an additional sex act against her will.

Police say Tucker is being charged with a first-degree sex offense and a handgun-related charge. The handgun in question was not the trooper's duty weapon, they added.
