Mother charged in crash that kills two sons

IRVING, Texas - A mother is accused of driving drunk Saturday night when she slammed her vehicle into parked cars, killing two of her children and leaving another two injured, according to CBS Dallas-Fort Worth.

Thirty-year-old Crystal Suniga was driving up to three times the posted speed limit on the street where the fatal accident occurred, police said.

Her sons 14-year-old Angel Reyes and 10-year-old Ricardo Hernandez were killed in the crash, according to reporter Stephanie Lucero.

"The car came to rest on the left side, on the passenger side, and they were, unfortunately, they were pinned under the car," Irving Police Department spokesman James McLellan said.

The mother has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter, two counts of injury to a child and one count of intoxication assault, Lucero reports.

Suniga's 16-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter received injuries that were not life threatening.

People who live nearby heard a loud car crash.

"We just approached the car and the little girl was screaming that she was looking for the other three brothers that were in the car," Adan Osuna said.
