LG's new G3 smartphone takes on Samsung with 5.5-inch display

The LG G3 was unveiled in London, New York and San Francisco on Tuesday, and the new flagship Android phone is hitting shop shelves tomorrow.

The G3 goes on sale in South Korea in just a few hours on Wednesday 28 May, before hitting 170 countries around the world in coming weeks. Here are the carrier details for the US, where AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon are the quickest off the blocks to confirm the new superphone.

In the UK, the first networks have confirmed the phone will arrive on July 1.

LG's latest flagship phone, the 5.5-inch G3 boasts an eye-popping high-resolution screen and camera that uses a laser to focus. It packs a quad-core processor and runs Google's mobile operating system Android 4.4.2 KitKat, taking on the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 and the iPhone 5S.

The new phone also adds a microSD card slot, one of the things we missed in its predecessor the LG G2.
