Erin Moran, Joanie from "Happy Days," dead at age 56
“Happy Days” actress Erin Moran died at the age of 56, CBS News has confirmed.
Moran played Joanie Cunningham on the hit show “Happy Days” and its short-lived spinoff “Joanie Loves Chachi” with Scott Baio.
Around 4:07 p.m. Harrison County dispatch in Corydon, Indiana, received a 911 call for an unresponsive female.
First responders determined that Moran was deceased.
An autopsy is pending and further details were not immediately available.
“Happy Days,” a sitcom set in Milwaukee, was broadcast from 1974-1984. It also starred Ron Howard and Henry Winkler played Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli.
Moran made guest appearances on series such as “Murder, She Wrote” and “The Love Boat.”
Winkler took to Twitter late Saturday to express his condolences -- along with other celebrities.
