Bill Cosby ordered to go under oath in sexual abuse lawsuit
Bill Cosby will have to go under oath this fall.
Reuters reports that the 78-year-old comedian was ordered this week to give a sworn deposition in a lawsuit alleging he sexually abused a 15-year-old girl at Los Angeles' Playboy Mansion in 1974.
Cosby will have to submit to questions under oath from the attorney representing his accuser Judy Huth on Oct. 9. Huth will then answer questions from Cosby's lawyers on Oct. 15.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge entered the order on Tuesday; it was made public on Wednesday.
In her lawsuit, Huth states that Cosby gave her drinks and then sexually assaulted her. Cosby's lawyer, Marty Singer, previously filed legal documents, calling the accusations "absolutely false."
Huth is one of many women who have come forth accusing Cosby of sexual assault. Last month, 35 of his accusers appeared in a cover story for New York magazine.
Also last month, newly-released testimony revealed that Cosby admitted under oath in 2005 that he obtained sedatives with the intent of giving them to women to have sex with them.
Cosby's career has taken a nose-dive ever since last fall, when more women started coming out against him.
