Woman Hit, Killed By Train Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said a 41-year-old woman was killed Friday when she was hit by a light rail train while crossing the street in Minneapolis.

Police responded to the area of Hiawatha Avenue and 35th Street E. at about 2:51 p.m. on a report of a pedestrian being hit by a Blue Line light rail train. When authorities arrived, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman Sunday as Karen Lynn Fraser. Authorities said she died of multiple blunt force injuries as a result of the collision with the train and her manner of death was a suicide.
