Wild Trades Niklas Backstrom To Calgary

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Wild made one move of significance before the NHL's trade deadline on Monday.

The Wild announced that they've traded goalie Niklas Backstrom to the Calgary Flames along with a sixth round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft for forward David Jones. Jones has 15 points, including nine goals, in 59 games with the Flames this season and was second on the team with 115 hits.

In 409 career games with the Wild, Backstrom went 194-142-50 with a 2.48 goals against average iand a .915 save percentage. He was the Wild's career leader in wins, shutouts and games played.
